iwupdate issue

How do I use iwupdate to copy a full directory in staging to the workarea?

Here is the syntax I have tried:
my $updatecmd = "/opt/iw-home/bin/iwupdate -x $staging $area";
$staging ="/default/main/www/abc/xyz/STAGING/home/dir1";
$area = "/default/main/www/abc/xyz/WORKAREA/Test";
I am getting the following error mesage:
No update performed from /default/main/www/abc/xyz/STAGING/home/dir1

Pls help me ASAP

It probably means that your workarea is already up to date with the STAGING area.

the workarea is empty.

If your workarea is empty, you probably have no conflicts. Try the '-w' flag instead of '-x'.

Try changing $area to end with /dir1 too - and see if that helps...

Tried first by adding the double quotes for variables also, it worked. Then tried by removing space in dirpath by using chomp on the variables and fixed the problem.
