Export data not working - how to debug

Hello,
I have two reports - a simple one and another more sophisticated. I deploy them to BIRT on Tomcat. I run them in frameset mode, getting some fancy controls. One of the controls allows exporting data.
When I click on the "export data" button on simplier report, I get columns to export, available result set. That's working fine.
When I click on the same button on more complicated report (crosstab, modifying displayed values, modifying data set query in script, chart, others) available result set is grayed out (no possible choices), no columns to be exported are displayed, clicking ok has no effect.
How can I debug that? Can I do it from within Eclipse (before deployment)? How can I enable debugs on server side?

Unfortunately, crosstab data cannot be exported in this way. You could request an enhancement for exporting crosstab data at <a class='bbc_url' href='http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/reportabug.php'>BIRT: Reporting Bugs and Requesting Enhancements</a>.
