Crosstab Data Fetching XML Issue

Hi,

I'm using a Data Cube to build a Crosstab that displays rates which can potentially vary. I used one XML to build the Data Cube, but when I tested (previewed) the report with a different XML, the data from the building XML still displays. What should happen is that the data in the testing XML should be displayed. It looked like as if the rates in the testing XML didn't "go through" the coding. Everything else on my report worked fine, meaning they are displayed according to the texting XML, not the building XML.

Any idea how I can solve this problem ASAP?

Hi Evenstar,

Can you explain this a little further? Are you saying that you had some test XML to build a report and now that you've switched to the real / another XML file, the correct data is not showing?

Yes that's correct. I use one XML to build the report, but when I use a different XML to run the report, data in the build report still comes through. However this is a problem only for the Crosstab, which uses DataCubes. I have other tables on the report but they would show the correct data in the XML used to run the report.

Can you recreate this issue with two xml files and a report design? That'd be helpful for my seeing exactly how you're setting this up and to test. Thanks.

Thought I'd provide more info on this issue.

This was not a problem when my DataCube referred to a "normal" Data Set. The Crosstab used the DataCube, and when testing the report design with multiple XML files, appropriate data would come through.

Then when trying to fix something else, I had to use a Joint Data Set. My DataCube now refers to this Joint Data Set, and this is when the issue arises.

I will re-create the problem but this may take awhile. Meanwhile if you have any suggestions/solutions based on the info above it'll be greatly appreciated!

So, the issue is only with joint dataSets as the source for the dataCube? I think the sample report will help put it all together for me if you're able to reproduce the error.
