File Corrupt warning in Excel 2007

Hi, 
 
We're currently have a few scheduled reports sending out xls files. We recently upgraded to Office 2007 - and now the xls attachments are prompting the new file corrupt error in Excel 2007. It appears that MS has instituted 'extension hardening' (link below) and I need to know how to avoid this from scheduled reports in iServer Express. 
 
Here is the short version: "the file must be in XLS (BIFF8) file format to open without this warning prompt."

This did not show up in our testing of the original version of Office 2007. We'll get a fix out in the next patch release.

Some basic info I should have included.

We are using version: 10 Service Pack 1 (Build 100C090331) on a 4 CPU Red Hat AS4 server and BIRT Report Design Professional for Windows (2.3.2).

Ok, I think Brian was thinking this was an issue with BIRT Spreadsheets, but this is related to outputting Excel from a BIRT Report Design (rptdesign). 
 
I am seeing the issue too, and believe it is related to the fact that the application it sending the filename with .XLS as the extension which means it is a binary file. However, BIRT currently generates XML based Excel files and with the new extension hardening in Office 2007, it knows that this is and XML based Excel file and is throwing the warning.
