$NO-RB$ CONVERT_FAILS to Integer Type
Krelek1000
Okay guys,
I am about to take BIRT (V 2.1.2) and hit the trash can and burn this thing to the ground.
Here is my problem, I am trying to conver the PAGE Numbering by groups over from BIRT 2.3 to BIRT 2.1. So I am duplicating alot of the formulas.
Here is something I just do not get though...
I am inserting a DATA Type on the 1st group Footer...
Standard Total.Count...
so it looks like this...
Total.Count(row["field"]) ("field" being a String field)
Dat item as follows
Name: Stupid_Formula
Data Type: Integer (For the COUNT of a FIELD!)
Expression: Should above
Aggregate On: CREW
Frustrating... BIRT THROWS A **** CONVERT_FAILS error. Of course Searches on this type of error bring nothing up in Google or anywhere else!
How, Oh HOW, does BIRT throw a Convert_fails when a COUNT is a INTEGER!
Any ideas? Maybe destroy the report and start over...
Frustrating yours,
Ben

Well for a followup, my question is this...
Total.Count does not like it when you count on a field like a string field...
I took away the field name and it no longer throws that stupid exception...
Was this an issue with V2.1 that was fixed later on?

Hi Ben,<br />
<br />
This is very possible. You could try searching the bugs at <a class='bbc_url' href='
http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/reportabug.php'>BIRT
: Reporting Bugs and Requesting Enhancements</a> to confirm.
