Chart Engine and Loglevel

Hi,
i ve got a problem with the BIRT Chart Engine. It seems that the chart engine ignores the loglevel beeing set for the BIRT viewer. The loglevel is always set to INFO nevertheless what's set via web.xml parameter.
Even when previewing a report with charts in the BIRT Report designer the chart engines creates a log file in the workspace/.metadata folder. When working with the Report designer on a daily base you end up with about 2GB of logfiles after a few weeks.
How can i increase the loglevel for the chart engine (especially in BIRT report designer)?
I m using BIRT 2.5.1
