How could I insert a date parameter and use it on my report

Hi everyone,

I work on a report that will generate information monthly. This report should be able to retrieve a date entered by the user and compare it with the transaction dates and show all transactions made since that date. The report works fine when I set a date in the report, but as soon as I put a parameter and I ask the report to compare the dates of transactions with the date parameter I have errors.

Can anyone help me on how I can add a parameter in my report?
