Grouping Question

if we have a group

X a b
... c d
... k l

is there a way to make the X repeat for the detail rows as:

X a b
X c d
X k l

The reson for the grouping is to avoid duplicates on the row...
as I don't know any other way to simulate DISTINCT in the BIRT template.
I cannot do it on the query side of things.

Hi Roberto,

If I'm understanding correctly, you should be able to move the X down into the detail row to repeat it across all lines. It doesn't have to remain in the group header row. If I'm understanding incorrectly, let me know.

If I drop it in the detail row the grouping breaks. I see all rows.
