How to use datasets as it is from the library?

Hi guys,

I have library, which contains a dataset (list of all customers). I want to use this library in my custom report...how do i bind it? The Binding window of the report has a dataset dropdown which does not detect this dataset present in the library ?

Hello Omkar,

To use the Data Set from a library in a Report, you must add the library to the Report Design and then add the Data Set to the Report Design. This can be done in two ways.

1) In the Outline tab, right click on "Libraries", choose "Use Library" and choose the library to use. From the "Resource Explorer", drag and drop the Data Set you want to use into your Data Set section of the Report Outline.

2) From the "Resource Explorer", drag and drop the Data Set you want to use into your Data Set section of the Report Outline. This will automatically add the Library to the Report Design and add the Data Set to your Report.

* Make sure you also have the Data Source from the Library added to your Report Design. The Data Set will not work without the appropriate Data Source.
