Binding Multiple Datasets to Table
Lianite
Greetings,
I know that you can add fields from multiple datasets into a single table, however I am trying to find out how to filter the information so that the tables match up without using a joined dataset.
I know that there is a way to do this as I have done it before, however I cannot remember how.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Jordan

Hi Jordan,
If you have a grouping in your table and you embed another element within the table, you could set the parameter binding of the inner element to the value of the outer group element to make sure everything matches up. Not sure if this is the setup you have though. Can you explain more about your setup or create a sample?

Hello,<br />
<br />
Shortly after posting, I found a tutorial that walks through the steps I was looking for. It is located at the following:<br />
<br />
<a class='bbc_url' href='
http://www.birt-exchange.org/devshare/designing-birt-reports/928-report-with-table-and-chart-from-multiple-data-sources-based-on-sub-queries/#description'>Report
with table and chart from multiple data sources based on sub-queries - Tutorials - BIRT Exchange</a><br />
<br />
By following that, I was able to accomplish what was needed.<br />
<br />
Thank you,<br />

Excellent! That's where I figured we'd end up, but I wanted to know your setup to be sure.
Happy New Year!
