Top N in Interactive Reports
vash
Hi,
I am using the trial version of the Birt Interactive viewer.
Based on our client feedback - I have a question.
Right now our reports just show 'Top 10' in most categories - but some clients would like to see more data.
Is it possible to pull data for 'Top 50' but display 'Top 10' in the report - as not all client want such huge data and reports. Clients interested in more data can opt to see 'Top 50' through interactivity.
Thanks,
Vash.

Hi Vash,
I don't think Interactive Viewer provides an out of the box approach for this. However you can achieve this in a couple of ways:

Create a parameter in the report design and have this parameter drive how much data you want to see in the report output.

Get the entire data set back and use javascripting to display the subset of data that is of interest to your clients.

Ashwini,
Thanks for the reply.
I think I will have to use the report parameter approach to pull data as per each clients requirement.
I don't want to get the whole data set back - as my data is huge.
Thanks,
Vash
