BiRT external CSS file linking questions
peachskitt
Hi BIRT community,
I'm trying to work with some external stylesheets and getting quite confused with how to link them.
I have 70+ reports to style. All of these reports will use a style sheet out of maybe half a dozen, depending on the report. So the ideal situation is to be able to just link one of these stylesheets to each report.
I have created a stylesheet. I went to add it into the resource explorer. Then I went to "Outline" and under styles, I "Use CSS file", select the file I added to the resource explorer, and the styles are brought in. I also specify a URI for the path to the CSS file one the actual webpage this is on. From my preview, it does what I ask it to. In firefox, the css file is pathed correctly. BUT the styles are not being applied to the web view at all.
I know that BIRT takes the predefined styles and gives it some name like "style##", and I have a feeling what I'm doing wrong involves my URI stylesheet isn't using the same "style" numbers...or something. Help!
PS: For some reason, my firefox visit to BIRT Exchange is permanently stuck in "you have to log in to post" mode. Clearing cache and session data doesn't help. Closing firefox doesn't help. I switched to using IE, but the same happened there after a few days too, so now I'm on Safari. But I'm running out of browsers! 8| Hope this is sorted before it gets stuck again.

Hi peachskitt,
So the styles only work in the preview window? Nowhere else? Can you attach your style sheet in here?
About the BIRT-Exchange problem, I have not heard of anyone else having login issues like that. You can no longer use IE or FF? You are stuck with only Safari working?
