Duplicating Rows
rarogerson
I am just starting to learn the report designer. I am attempting to duplicate the Product Catalog from scratch.
I create a new Group Listing report, the data source and dateset.
I drag the PRODUCTNAME, PRODUCTSCALE, MSRP to the details band.
I drag the PRODUCTLINE to the group band.
When I preview the report all the rows return the same data. There are changes in the groups but the data in the row does not change.

rarogerson,
I don't see the same when I use the grouped listing template and do the same as you described. What version of BIRT are you using? I'm using 2.5.1.
If you're using 2.5.1 as well, can you send me you rptdesign that's not working? Thanks.

I'm not sure how you wanted the report design sent to you but tried exporting the reportdesign and attached it.
Actually, now that I looked at it in Notepad since it is an xml document it's probably what you wanted.
Thanks,
rarogerson

rarogerson,
I don't see the same when I run your report either. Here is a quick grouped listing example I made. It works as expected for me. Does it work for you?

Thanks for the help Micheal.
First yes, your report worked fine.
I ended up changing the value of a data column. (selected [productName] and rightclick Change Data Column). I changed it to [productLine] and it worked incorrectly (as expected). I then changed it back and now the report works correctly. I don't think I did anything else but I appreciate the help.
Thanks,
