area chart doesn't differentiate between 0 and null

Our current area charts drop to 0 whenever they plot a null point (as shown in the attached image1). Is there a way to have them simply end at the current day value whenever they encounter a null value, as shown in image2?

You might try using a filter to remove null values from your chart data.
