From an open source perspective you could use BIRT sample viewer application and make url calls to invoke BIRT reports in your application. You could also use the REAPI (Report Engine API) to integrate run-time aspect of BIRT in your application:

Also Actuate provide commercial products(iServer Express/Enterprise, Deployment Kit, Actuate Viewers) that makes deployment of reports easier and provides integration options like <a class='bbc_url' href='http://www.birt-exchange.org/wiki/GSG:Getting_Started_with_BIRT_JavaScript_API/'>Javascript API</a> and <a class='bbc_url' href='http://www.birt-exchange.org/wiki/GSG:Getting_Started_with_Server_Integration_Technology/'>Web Services API</a> in addition to URL based integration.

I appreciate your help very much.

In my project they are using Actuate iServer Enterprise for the report deployment and they have used JSAPI to Call BIRT report. We have requirement to generate the report in Word format from the Application. At this time this JS API only supports PDF and HTML formats.

I want to know what are other options available to do this.
