Session handling of BIRT Designer Pro (2.3)

Hello all,

Currently we're working with BIRT Designer (Open Source) version 2.5.1. Now we are interested in BIRT Designer Pro.

With using the test license I rebuild one of our reports. It has no especially output. But the data selecting is more complex.

Our data source is Oracle 9-11 and we use the driver oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver (v10.2) for connection. To select our date we in high performance and keep the structure for other reporting tools like Oracle Discoverer we built database views with cascading sub-selects. The select in the lowest level get the restriction to some key values like IDs or period.

Well, to select from these views we built getters and setters in a database package which has to keep the value while the session is online.

In BIRT 2.5 we initialized the key values and placed the response of the statement on the report design. All statements which select data from the views show the correct values.

With testing of Designer Pro it doesn't work anymore. It seems that the engine reconnect for each statement to the database. Result: All tables are empty.

Now my question: Is it possible to keep the session and the initializing in Designer Pro? And if yes: How?
