How do we configure data-source in BIRT?

Hi friends,
How to configure data source in BIRT in rptdesing and that should work with multiple database without changing rptdesing..
Plesase help!

You have a couple options. First you can configure a JNDI lookup that can remove the coupling of the report to the data source. More here: <a class='bbc_url' href='

Secondly, you could choose to bind the critical elements of the data source connection string to properties. These properties can then be dynamically managed at run time (usually via parameters which can be hidden from the end-user). When you have a data source on a BIRT report all set up, double-click it to edit it. From there, have a look at the "Property Binding" grouping on the left column. You can interface with the report parameters via the expression editor on each property. It is pretty clear from there.<br />
