Hi all,
in my js file, i execute a callserver on savedone event.
the call server returns data that i need to set some item values.
This works perfectly well but i have the message " You have not saved your changes.Are you sure you want to close ?"
seems the changes are note considered ...what can i do it's a urgent matter please any answer is welcome

I am guessing that when the callserver returns, you set certain values on the item, dirtying the form.

Instead of doing this on the onSaveDone event, you might consider doing the callserver and setting the form values on the onSave event instead. Be sure to invoke the save after the callServer has returned with your values (IWDatacapture.save()).

Hi Dan duno really get you ..when do you wanna call (IWdatacapture>save()) ...?
Here's briefly the scenario :

init(){
......
IWEventRegistry.addFormHandler("onSaveDone", SaveHandler);
........
}

fucntion SaveHandler(){

........
IWDatacapture.callServer("......");
}
then the callserver sends back to the frame a result that following function handles

function receive(result){
..............
someItem.setValue(result);
}

when do you want to call your save stuff in this case ..?

Here's briefly the scenario :

The problem is you are using the onSaveDone event. So the save is already complete when you are changing values. Those values are not part of the save, that is why you are getting the message.

What Dan is saying is that you should be doing this onSave instead. But because your FormAPI isn't going to wait for your callServer to finish, you need to return false from the onSave event handler and then when your callServer script calls back to the DCT, it will need to invoke the save.

I'm using OnSave and Call server but the problem now is that Finish button does not wait for the Callserver result before going to workflow?
Is there a way to control the Finish button?

You need to return false from your onSave event handler to stop the save. Then have your callServer invoke the save when it is done.

This is a limitation of this approach. I haven't found a good workaround for it except to train the users to click "Save" before clicking "Finish" That way, things should have time to get saved before they send it to workflow.

Try it this way:

In your callserver script:
else {
alert("$value2: Does not exist.");
api.Result('something');
}

In your DCT script write a small function like:

function Result (status){
if("something" == status){
IWDatacapture.save();
}
}

And post your results ;-)
