DNS versus NIS License Key Issue
Ninerfan
Solaris8 server running in a valid DNS environment however NO NIS. If I do nslookup my server is found in the domain by the domain controller. So DNS seems FINE. Not according to teamsite however which after a fresh first install is complaining about the license key. Same issue I 've seen mentioned in other posts but I did not see clear resolution for Solaris. If I gen the key with my real domain the server is in then server fails to start because it claims complete mismatch. I can set domain to NoDomainFound and get the tsisvalid to like it better but it then reports:
License validation failed for Universal-eval licensing
because the encoded strings do not match.
License is good for node-locked licensing.
My question is what does teamsite check during isvalid? If it just does a domainname system command that will return nothing as it refers to NIS NOT DNS. What does it use or where is it looking to validate the domain??
Thanks in advance.
