Tips- Getting the user name inside BIRT Report for Maximo

If you have any scheduled reports, which needs the login user name, then this may help you.<br />
<br />
This is a solution from IBM.<br />
<br />
1. Add <strong class='bbc'>userName</strong> as a non-required parameter to the reportdesign.<br />
<br />
2. Login to maximo. Go to report administration application, select the report you have changed, then import the design.<br />
<br />
3. Once the report is imported and saved, you will see the <strong class='bbc'>userName</strong> parameter in the parameter list in report administartion.<br />
<br />
4. Delete the <strong class='bbc'>userName</strong> parameter from the report administration parameter list using the delete icon on the RHS of the parameter. This makes sure that the user wont be prompted to enter with a userName parameter when the report is run manually.<br />
<br />
5. Save report, generate request page. <br />
<br />
The userName parameter that you had added will be supplied with the username by maximo while report is generated. <br />
You can use this parameter inside your report by using params["userName"] to serve your purpose.<br />
