Starting Birt Report Engine w/o BIRT_HOME possible?

we develop an RCP application that will be shipped with all birt plugins integrated (2.5.2, based on Eclipse 3.5.2). Inside an own plugin of our application, which depends on the necessary birt plugins, I would now like to create a Birt engine without having to set the EngineHome property, since I assume that everything that birt needs is already part of the distribution. Is this even possible?<br />

since my last post didn't produce any answers, let me just quickly rephrase:

we have an RCP application that should headlessly produce birt reports. i.e. we have *.rpt files and would like to generate html and pdf reports out of them (we use this to generate on-the-fly documentation of our internal business models). we specifically DON'T want to use ReportViewer to generate and show our reports (we're happy with headless generation).

since we have birt included as part of our shipment (we bundle eclipse classic with birt and our own product) we would like to do so WITHOUT having to give a ENGINE_HOME location.

- create engine
- provide rpt
- run "generate pdf" with target location where to create report
- done

can we do this? we would simply like to avoid having all plugins and jars deployed twice (once as part of the shipped product's OSGI platform and once as a separate BirtEngine installation that is "included" via ENGINE_HOME)
