Can I catch a Data Source exception?

I have report that uses a Web Service based Data Source.
If this Web Service is down then my report displays a "An exception occurred during processing...Cannot open the connection for the driver:org.eclipse,datatools.enablement.ods.ws ..." message.
Is there way to catch this exception in the report and display a nice ( user friendly ) message or drop a table that is associated with that data source/data set?
