How can i stop running report?

I use Birt v2.3.2 to create huge reports with hundreds of millions of records, and i want to add an option to stop running report. some reports run forever, and never stop until i restart my application.
I need a way to stop running report, i dont know if birt APIs support something like that!!!

the solution is to use RunTask.canel();
but it takes about a minute before the action take the effect.
