Portlet not keeping parameter
Titou
Hi,
Mashboard is a fantastic solution. It really makes dashboard and scorecard buidling easier. However is it possible to store parameters provided while dragging a portlet ?
Cheers

If you know the parameter values ahead of time, you can simply append them to the URL when you configure the portlet (See the BIRT-based content example on the wiki: <a class='bbc_url' href='
http://www.birt-exchange.org/wiki/Mashboard_Content_Management/#Adding_Portlets'>Mashboard
Content Management - BIRT Wiki - BIRT Exchange</a>). You append parameter values by just adding "<span style='font-family: Courier New'>¶meterName=parameterValue</span>" to the URL for each parameter the report requires.<br />
<br />
If you do not know the values, the parameter request page will be rendered into your portlet to request input from the user.<br />

Good Luck!

Too bad ... my idea was to build a minimum of portlets and to let users define their canvas filling parameters.
If I build as many portlets as they will probably need it's going to be tedious.
Thanks for your help

There is support for user defined canvases inside the Mashboard installation that is associated with BIRT onDemand. Any user with an onDemand account can install the Mashboard into their account on the cloud. From there any content will have an "Add to Mashboard" action associated with it. This allows users to tailor their Mashboard to meet their individual needs.
