Active Directory & TeamSite

Has anyone gotten TeamSite to work with Microsoft's Active Directory? There is an article at http://devnet.interwoven.com/site.fcgi/techlib/048863 Unfortunately, these directions *seem* to include a few inconsistencies, for example, is it “interwoven-tsroles” or "tsroles", or "interwoven-tsrole", or "tsrole?"

any insight that someone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

We had a lot of problems getting Teamsite working with our AD users.

Our setup is native mode multi-domain AD, AD for authentication only. We use domain global groups for holding users, which are then included in server local groups and applied to directories.

We applied both solution 6.3.1 and 6.3.2 in the referenced paper, as initially we did not see success with either scenario. In order to get this all working properly we also had to add "netmonitor=no" to iw.cfg and make sure both

1. the workarea NT permissions included a group which included all of our users
2. each branch and workarea had the group for sharing set to that group

Good luck, and I'd recommend posting some more information on your configuration.

Within the file iw.cfg, the property "ldap_roles" should be set to "tsrole" (where tsrole is the common name used in the creation of the attribute; do not use the LDAP Display Name here). Thus, the example on page 20, section 4.9.1 is wrong since it indicates to use "interwoven-tsroles". Also, the example on page 22, section 5.2.1 is wrong since it indicated to use "tsroles".

note that this is using version 1.4 of the manual.

in reality, it should be "interwoven-tsrole" (the LDAP display name). at least this worked for us......
