Display total on stacked bar graph
system_migrated
Hi
We have a stacked bar graph on BIRT 2.5.2 displaying different costs causes per month (e.g. food 50€ + drinks 21€ + catering 12€ in month 01/2010). We would like to show a total above each bar (in this example 83 €). Dataset returns rows like this
month | cost cause | amount
We tried the stacked bar with secondary line chart, but line chart series always displays cost causes. Also we did a union creating additional row with cost cause "totalPerMonth".
Still not able to view totals.
Help appreciated. THX.

What about using a stacked bar graph with three Y series values, the first two would be your values and the third will be the addition of the first two? Ex. vlaues A and B are each on the graph and the third value will be A+B. Will that work for you?

Had someone from a class I was teaching ask this question, so I threw together a quick example.
Take a look at the following example. This uses chart scripting to take the values in each series on a stacked bar chart and adds the values together.

Note, this puts the totals in the axis label, but you can move the axis label above as well.

This is great that you can put the total of a Stacked Bar Chart in the x-axis.
Does anyone know how to put the total on top of each stacked bar?
