Mashboard install problem again

Hi all,
sorry to re-post on a thread which has been ever discussed but I'm trying to install the mashboard on a iServer express trial pack and I have the following message :
"Quickstart Mashboard Project Configuration does not exists, or you don't have the permission".
I have read every post on the subject but I haven't success with previous solutions.
I've already checked the permission and set them at all for all user's to be sure.
I'm going to fix it when it will be working.

I have restart several times the iServer service.

I have also reinstall the iServer to be sure it is not an installation error.

I have some asks:
-is it normal that the mashboard files are not recognized as executable files?
-is the default path to access the mashboard quickstart:
"http://localhost:8900/iportal/mashboard.do?project=QuickStart"?

I noticed in your post you quoted the error message "Quickstart Mashboard Project Configuration does not exists, or you don't have the permission". The path to the configuration files on the iServer is case-sensitive. Did you deploy the files to "/Resources/mashboard/QuickStart"?

you are right, it was a problem of case-sensitivity in the path.

Hi all,
after the mashboard works with the QuickInstall, I decided to execute the next step, my own mashboard project.
After modifying the .mashconfig to make available two new reportlet, I charged my project on the iServer Express.
Now, not only my project doesn't work but the QuickStart doesn't work anymore with the following message in the log file :

I thought it was locale problem (my iServer locale is fr_FR), but I followed the instruction seen in a previous post, delete the cache and restart the service and it does not work.

If someone have an idea?

The second error indicates a permissions problem for the mashconfig file. When you uploaded your new/modified files did you forget to copy permissions from the previous version? It can be easy to over-write the permissions when making changes.

Hi Brian,
I have already checked the permission and they are set to all to all users.
I noticed that I'm not the first designer to meet this error, but it doesn't seem to have one particular solution.

Does this error reflect several installation problems?

So you noted the QuickStart is not functional after your modifications. Did you make a copy of the QuickStart configuration files and create a new project or did you edit the provided QuickStart files directly? Can you put the edits/new portlet definitions you made as a post to the thread please?

Actually, I edited the QuickStart Project (I would have done better to create a new project...). After it doesn't work, I have created two project, QuickStart and my_project.
I restored the QuickStart with the original files, and edited my_project.

Here you can find the two new portlets :

The rptdesign files are correctly named and located to MashboardContent/QuickStart. They are correctly rendered in the iServer Express.

Sorry to be asking so many questions with very few ideas on what to fix. I need to fully understand the current state of the installation so I can diagnose what could be wrong. I need to determine if the problem is with your mashconfig files or your overall Mashboard installation.

Once you restored the QuickStart files did that project return to a working state? If it did not, I would like to address that first.

1) Back up your my_project mashboard files
2) Uninstall Mashboard
3) Perform a clean Mashboard install & verify the QuickStart project is functional
4) Re-install your my_project files to both the file system (underneath the /mashboard directory) and tot he iServer (underneath /Resources/mashboard/my_project)
5) Test both QuickStart and my_project

If QuickStart IS working and only my_project is not, then please update the thread with your installation file paths used on the file system and iServer for this project.
