Birt 2.5.2 - unable to close database connections

I have recently migrated from birt 2.3.0 to 2.5.2.<br />
<br />
The birt reports generated on my system are not seeming to release database connection which subsiquenty is causing Out Of Memory- Heap Space exception on my Jboss server.<br />
<br />
I am using JNDI datasource for connection pooling in my normal web application as well as in my Birt Reports.<br />
<br />
Whenever i click on report i get the following error:<br />

I am running the reports on jboss 2.3.2 version on linux 64 bit machine<br />
My JAVA version is :<br />
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0-b09)<br />
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.6.0-b09, mixed mode)
