Encyclopedia Reporting - iServer 10 / 11
al91206
We're looking into reporting on various items within the encylopedia and I wondered if the topic in this wiki is still useful for iServer Express 10?
http://www.birt-exchange.org/org/wiki/index.php?title=Encyclopedia_Reporting_Example
Also - with regards to Actuate 11 - is the encylopedia data now organized in a derby database? If so can you do things like come up with a sql script to input scheduled reports simply by adding a line of data into a table? Is there a schema somewhere that shows more information?
Thanks,
Al

Hi Al,
The instructions are still applicable with minor changes. For example the path to the library needs to be updated. I also had to update the WSDL URL to "
http://localhost:8000/wsdl/v10/axis"
; (I have iServer Express running locally)
Regarding third party rdbms support for encylopedia, the db will be used only to store metadata like users, roles, file/folder related information while the report files and related resources will be in the file system. You could use the IDAPI's to create new schedules as you did for previous versions. Also for iServer Express the only supported database for metadata storage is PostgreSQL.
