Hi KavithaD,

You use a dataCube when you want to use a crosstab to display a dynamically grouped matrix style table. To set one up, you'd use a dataSet as your source, then add dimensions for your row and column categories, and a measure or measures to be summed in the "matrix" area. Let me know if this answers your question.

You'd use a dataCube when you want to create a matrix/comparison view of row and column dimensions.

Say you had the data below:

customer, orderDate, orderAmount
A, 1/10/10, 1000
A, 2/10/10, 1000
A, 2/20/10, 1000
A, 3/10/10, 1000
B, 1/15/10, 1500
B, 1/31/10, 1000
B, 2/15/10, 1500
B, 3/15/10, 500
....
....
....
etc

Now you want to show a customer orders by customer by month matrix table like the following:

_______ Jan | _Feb | March....etc.
___A | 1000 | 2000 | 1000
___B | 2500 | 1500 | 500
....etc

.You cleared my doubt about Data Cubes.I have some doubts regarding data set too.I have to display some data in a table.But i have to fetch this data from around 10 tables.
1.Which is the best way to do it?
2.joint data set can join only 2 data set?

Are the 10 tables from different dataSources? Or can you write a single SQL query to bring them all in to one dataSet? Yes, a joint dataSet only joins 2 dataSets at a time. However, you can join the joint dataSet with another dataSet, etc. until all of your dataSets are joined if that's what you need to do.
