Stacked bar chart

Is it possible to add an image or constant width (or height) box in between two adjacent boxes in a Stacked bar chart.

Please take a look at the chart from the example (http://www.birt-exchange.org/org/devshare/designing-birt-reports/354-birt-stacked-bar-chart-example/)

In the example, the Income (green) appears above Expenses (red). Is is possible to display a Black box in between the Green and Red boxes? I have tried putting a constant height box. But the problem with that approach is that the height of the Black box with change based on the scale.

There is no way to do that without getting into the charting API. I would strongly caution against this as it gives the impression to the reader of the chart that there is anther set of values being visualized.

You could shade each bar in the series with a gradient. Have the gradient start with one color and finish as transparent. This will create some spacing between the bars without actually introducing a new color. Check out the attached screen shot to see what I mean.
