NullPointerException in BIRT 2.5
Megha Nidhi Dahal
Hello there,
In my application, BIRT works fine when the java application is run from the console, but when it is debug(ed) or run from eclipse, it fails with the following exception:
java.lang.NullPointerException
at org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.api.impl.ReportEngine$EngineExtensionManager.<init>(ReportEngine.java:792)
at org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.api.impl.ReportEngine.<init>(ReportEngine.java:111)
at org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.api.impl.ReportEngineFactory$1.run(ReportEngineFactory.java:18)
at org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.api.impl.ReportEngineFactory$1.run(ReportEngineFactory.java:1)
at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
at org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.api.impl.ReportEngineFactory.createReportEngine(ReportEngineFactory.java:14)
at ParametersTask.executeReport(ParametersTask.java:26)
at ParametersTask.main(ParametersTask.java:45)
I have made sure that all the jars which are used by my application are attached in eclipse.
Not a show stopper, but if I could find a reason for this and fix it, it would certainly save my effort and time to rebuild the application and run from console(command prompt).
A small bit of help/advice is also very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Arpan

Hi Arpan,
Can you post the entire error stack?

Hi Michael,
That is all I've got

Arpan,
Nothing more in your log file? Are you creating the report using java files? Or just have a report design failing in the Eclipse designer?
