Clearing dataset cache in javascript

I would like to clear the cache of a dataset in the afterClose method of that dataset. The method org.eclipse.birt.data.engine.api.DataEngine.clearCache(IBaseDataSourceDesign dataSource, IBaseDataSetDesign dataSet) appears to do what I want. I'm not sure how to construct the appropriate DataEngine, IBaseDataSourceDesign, and IBaseDataSetDesign objects. It would be great if someone could show me what javascript to use. 
 
Preventing the caching of the data in the first place would also work. 
 
I'm using BIRT 2.3.2
