Generating user define Running count

Hi All,

Is there any way to generate Running count like ,1a,1b,1c ... 2a,2b,2c...Please explain me how to do it?

Hi Kavitha,

Would this be a group counter where group 1 would be 1a, etc. and group 2 would be 2a, etc.? How does the user define the running count? Would you have a parameter list of counting options that they'd choose from?

Thank you for the reply.Sorry for mentioning it as user defined running count.I want to display Groups as A,B,C,D..... for the sub groups i want to display as 1,2,3,4,5..... the items inside sub groups i want to display as 1a,1b,1c,1d...... by using sub groups Serial number.

Is there any way to display this kind of pattern...This is big challenge for me

Kavitha,

Take a look at the attached report. It might help get you started on what you're looking for. I use an array of the alphabet in upper case and lower case and a few counters to build my "row ID" for each group level. Let me know if you have questions.
