Superimposing or overlaying charts
Anita Mathew
Hey all,
I have two datasets with certain data for last year and this year. I want to create one chart that can show both data on the same axis.
For example:
DataSet1:
Count Date
10 02-12-2009
32 04-05-2009
43 06-17-2009
55 07-12-2009
76 10-10-2009
DataSet2:
Count Date
23 02-12-2010
46 04-05-2010
67 06-17-2010
98 07-12-2010
I'd want this chart to basically plot each date as mm-dd and then display two line chart points for each count. This would help compare last years data with this year's. Is there a way to do this by either creating two charts and overlaying them or creating a single dataset to create a single chart?
Thanks,
A.

Hi A,
You should be able to make a joint dataSet to join your two dataSets and plot the dates on a single chart.

Sorry I should've been clearer about my question.

I can join the datasets to get a chart like this:

But what I want is a chart like this:

alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' />

So basically I want both last years and this years dates to overlap. Is it possible?

If you created a computed column that gave you just the mm/dd value and one that gave you the yyyy value, you could use the mm/dd value for the x-axis and the yyyy value for the optional y-series grouping. This would allow them to overlay each other and 2009 and 2010 would be separate. Hope this helps.
