Alternate row not preserved when printing HTML

I followed the the alternate row formatting rule using Highlights, row["__rownum"] % 2. Report looks great in the Report Viewer but when I print the report as HTML, the alternate row formatting disappears. If report is saved as a PDF, formatting is OK. Any thoughts? Thanks.

It is a feature of the Browser (your default browser if using the Designer's Web Viewer).

Browsers do not print HTML backgrounds by default.
In IE you would go to Print - Page Setup - check 'Print background colors and images'
