invoke BIRT Viewer thru Java
venugopalp
Hi All,<br />
<br />
I have Java program which is running perfectly to execute BIRT report<br />
it renders the output in HTML or PDF format. <br />
<br />
But i want BIRT Report viewer to open my .rptdesign file ( BIRT Report viewer has option to choose the output format to store, if we wish.) <br />
<br />
is it mandatory to use servlet / web-server to invoke BIRT viewer ?<br />
or any example code to <strong class='bbc'>invoke BIRT Viewer</strong> thru core Java ???<br />
<br />
reply much appreciated...<br />
<br />

The viewer requires some app server. Even in the designer is uses the Jetty plugin. If your java app is using OSGi (Like and RCP Application) it can launch the viewer much like the designer does.
