Double Query execution in RunTask and RenderTask
Rainer
Hi all,

I integrated ReportEngine in Web Application. After migrating to 2.5.2 I am using IProgressMonitor zu log status of report execution. Report execution is done by RunTask writing rptdocument and then RenderTask to render the output in the desired format. I checked the records that IProgressMonitor writes into the logfile and it seems that both RunTask and RenderTask execute all defined report Queries.

This is the output I got from logfile.

DEBUG 11:03:40,552 btpool0-7 - Starting Run Task
DEBUG 11:03:41,893 btpool0-7 - Starting Page: 1
DEBUG 11:03:41,920 btpool0-7 - Starting Query for element Id: 250
DEBUG 11:03:42,250 btpool0-7 - Ending Query for element Id: 250
DEBUG 11:03:42,349 btpool0-7 - Starting Query for element Id: 570
DEBUG 11:03:42,355 btpool0-7 - Ending Query for element Id: 570
DEBUG 11:03:42,608 btpool0-7 - Ending Page: 1

DEBUG 11:03:43,159 btpool0-7 - StartingRender Task
DEBUG 11:03:43,242 btpool0-7 - Starting Query for element Id: 250
DEBUG 11:03:45,239 btpool0-7 - Starting Query for element Id: 570
DEBUG 11:03:45,240 btpool0-7 - Ending Query for element Id: 570

I thought rptdocument would contain data from query execution and further operations on database
are not nessessary.
Its only very little time that is spent in RenderTask because data in this case come
from Query Cache but in my eyes redundant. Does RenderTask execute report Queries? and if so,
is there way to avoid it?

Regards Rainer
