BIRT Viewer parameters not propagated in drill-throughs
mhammer
The BIRT Viewer exposes certain URL parameters to control its behaviour and appearance; for instance, __showtitle=false will hide the "BIRT Report Viewer" title in the frameset mode, and likewise __navigationbar=false will hide the "Showing page 1 of x" bar.
However, it seems that these parameters are not preserved when the report contains drill-through links to other reports. The behaviour we observe is that with the above two parameters passed, the initial report is shown without the title and navigation bars, but they appear on any drill-through to another report.
Is this a bug or expected behaviour? Is there any way to force the parameters to be preserved?
Version info: BIRT Viewer & Engine 2.3.2, Tomcat 5.5.27, IE8 and FF3.6.

This is probably not a bug but should be logged as an enhancement. Can you please do this? As a work around you can add any of these parameters to the parameter grid in the drill through hyperlink editor. And then set its value to something like:
var navparm = reportContext.getHttpServletRequest().getParameter("__navigationbar");
if( navparm != null){
navparm;
}else{
true;
}

Thanks for your response Jason. Editing all the links in an existing dashboard-style application is unfortunately not an option for us. Can you please confirm where & how enhancement requests are logged?

Take a look at the bugzilla heading here:
