Using Birt In WebApps
pems
Hi,
we want to find out is there any way that we can use the BIRT with out installing that in server. we want to use that in web application. Any help is appreciated.
config = new EngineConfig( );
config.setProperty("BIRT_HOME", "C:/dev/Birt/birt-runtime-2_5_2/ReportEngine");
We can' have BIRT_HOME in the server or in network but we can use these Birt jar files as a part of webapp jars.
Thanks

You get into some tricky territory here. The BIRT Home has to point to the root of the BIRT engine directory, so that OSGi can find the correct configuration and plugins structure on startup. The exception is if you are integrating BIRT into an OSGi based application. I'd need to look at some past notes on how we integrated into WebSphere and this was an issue. What are you installing into, Tomcat, websphere?
