Precision issue
jasonws
Hi, I'm fairly new to designing reports. I set up a style that formats a number with 2 decimal places and a leading $ for all the price fields, and it doesn't work on the far right column. I attached a screenshot. This issue pertains to the unit price and amount columns. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason,
Are you using the "currency" option for formatting that is default with BIRT or are you using a custom format?

Thanks for your response, mwilliams! I am using the currency option. -Jason
And you specifically chose 2 deciman places? Can you show a screenshot of the format number area of the property editor so I can see your settings on the last data field?

If you add an empty column to the right does the issue go away?
What BIRT version are you using?

I did choose 2 decimal places. I attached the screenshot of the format number area, as well as the layout. Thanks for your help, Michael. -Jason
I moved the right edge of the last column slightly to the left. This worked. Thanks!
Jason,
What version of BIRT are you using?

Nevermind, I see in the screenshot above that it's 2.6.1. Did you have a width set for the table that was too wide for the layout? Or did it just end up being cut off? Is the table in a grid or something that might push it to the right?
jasonws
I believe at this point the table was within a grid but to my knowledge I hadn't adjusted the table width at all.
I've been seeing issues with tables being moved over slightly and cut off when placed in a grid. You might log a bug for this at
http://www.birt-exchange.org/org/resources/bug-reporting/
and let them know that your table was cut off without you doing any sizing to cause it when you placed it in the grid.

I just signed up for an account. When it's approved I'll submit the bug. Thanks! -J
