Union two data sets?

Is it possible to union two data sets in Birt? I have two joint data sets that have the same columns, and I need to union these two sets. I can't find a way to do it, and from my little research it seems to not be supported yet (but the document was last updated in 2005 or 2006):

Can someone please confirm if this can or can't be done. Or the best way around it. I don't see me being able to finish this report if I can't union the two sets together.

Hi Jack,

would it work, if you created a third data set and write the UNION Statement directly to the query?

Thanks for the response. How would you go about doing this though? I looked at my "Joint Data set" and it won't let you edit the query directly. Can you create a regular dataset and reference the two existing ones by any chance?
