Opening Metadata Capture from a CGI Callout

Has anyone had any success having a cgi callout in a DCT open the metadata capture form using iwmetadata.cgi? The "Set Metadata" option from the File Menu works correctly. But when I use "/iw-bin/iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi/iwmetadata.cgi" or simply iw-bin/iwmetadata.cgi" as the url of my callout it simply opens a blank metadata capture form. It doesn't even read the "local/config/datacapture.cfg" metadata config file to display the form.

Anyone who has done this before or can offer some suggestions on how I can get this to work (by perhaps setting an ENV var that the iwmetadata.cfg file is looking for) please let me know.

Maybe it is the way the file is being passed to the CGI? You might want to associate a formapi function with the callout instead of the CGI itself and have the function set the parameter the metadata capture CGI expects. Also you probably need to ensure the DCR is saved before/when the callout button is pressed?
