Relationg between BIRT designer and Runtime

hi,
In my product we have released multiple versions with different BIRT runtime versions e.g. 2.3.2 and 2.5.2 . I have the Report designer version 3.2.15 with me and when I change any report released with older runtime(2.3.2) and older Designer version, it updated the designer version number. But the updated report doesn't able to run on the older runtime.

What is the relation between report designer and runtime ? Do we have any matrix to specify the supportability of different report designer version with the BIRT runtimes ?

Rohan,

The version of the BIRT report can never run on an older runtime. The runtime can run a report that is older than the runtime though.
