Performance problem with templates

Hi everyone,

i'm new to using BIRT and just did a few tests with templates and libraries.

I want to use a Workspace in the network where also the templates-folder should be.

While the network itself isn't really slow, the publishing (registring) of a new template and also the access on a template using the report creation wizard is very very slow.

By example, the opening of a report from the workspace has a duration of about 1-3 sec., while the load of a template takes 7-10 min.!!!

Is there any workaround to increase the speed or do i have to go for a coffee anytime using a template? :-)

Hi grollye,

How complex is your template? I have not heard of this being a problem before. Do you have a template that you can post on here for me to add to my templates to open to see how long it takes? What is your BIRT version? If you create a new "blank" template, does it take a very long time to start a new report with this template?
