Drill down report questiont

I've seen examples of drill down reports that has a link from a field that links from a main report to a detail report that shows the details of the field value the user selected.

Would there be a way, at the bottom of the main report, to have a drop down selection of, say a fixed amount of field names, that the user could drill the details down to. After they select that field, a details report will grab the parameters already selected for the summary report, plus the item selected in the new drop down menu and run a sub-report, via a button or hyperlink.

You might be able to do this with a text box and some HTML and javascript. I haven't done it, but I imagine you'd have to create an html drop down with the values you'd want and then the HTML button would have javascript behind it that would take the current selected value from the HTML dropdown you created and drill down to the detail report though a URL you created with the value.
