Deploying from Last EDITION using DD

I have DD version DataDeploy Version 5.2.0 Build 5249 Interwoven 20011209.

What is the best way to do data deploy from the last edition
that is out there in a branch? Is it possible to rename an edition after we do a deployment?

In my DD config file, source is defined as :

I pass in the $mybasearea thru cmd line arg as path to the last EDITION like /default/main/MyBranch/ed_001. First time it goes thru fine..

Next time, when I deploy, edition name changes to ed_002. Is it possible to deploy from ed_oo2 now without causing errors?

When you try to deploy ed_002 you may get errors because lot of the information in ed_002 might be similar to ed_001 hence causing unique constraint violation. Looks like what yoy want is a differential deployment i.e. you want to deploy the diff between ed_001 and ed_002. Check for information on differential deployments.
