BIRT 2.6.1 With Eclipse 3.4 (Ganymede)

Hi,

We are currently using BIRT 2.3.2 on Eclipse Ganymede (3.4.2). We also have Flex Builder 3.4 Plugin installed in Eclipse. We used the BIRT all in one Download which came with Birt 2.3.2.

We want to Upgrade BIRT to version 2.6.1 since it has a lot of new features that we want to use. Unfortunately we cannot move to Eclipse Helios (3.6.2) since Flex Builder does not work properly on Eclipse Helios.

Is there any way of Upgrading BIRT to 2.6.1 in the existing Setup ?

I tried downloading the BIRT Report 2.6.1 Framework and then creating a link file in eclipse/links folder pointing to the unzipped folder after deleting all the org.eclipse.birt plugins (2.3.2 Version). This does not seem to bring up the Report Designer Perspective.

Can someone please suggest alternatives for the same ?

BIRT 2.6.1 requires Helios.
