BIRT 2.6.1 and Progressive Rendering ? Is it true ?

I just upgraded very old version of BIRT to 2.6.1 and was going through the source code and saw in the ExecutionContext a flag for Progressive Rendering. Is it true that BIRT 2.6.1 supports progressive rendering ?

Or is it still only available in the Commercial version ?

Currently the Engine supports a call back when a page is generated (Progressive Viewing) but the Open Source Viewer does not make use of this yet. The comercial viewer does.
