Global variables in library

Is it possible to create a global variable in a library and have it accessible by all the reports? If so, can someone share how it is done?

1. Create a hidden report parameter in library with default value
2. Add this parameter element from library to your report design
3. Default Value of this parameter can be accessed from the report design using another global variale which
is Param["parametername"]
